“This city will be considered a spiritual capital of Latin America, and not one of Taxi Heathrow Airport
sodomy,” Pastor Ricardo Rodríguez told the hundreds of Christians who had gathered to say “No to the law in favor of homosexuality” and “No to abortion,” during the March for Jesus that took place on Thursday, September
Convened by the Evangelical Council of Colombia (CEDECOL), the District Association of Ministers of the Gospel (ADME), and various Christian communications media in Bogotá, the participants carried signs emphasizing the traditional family institution. We are marching for “the rights and respect for life, for the dignity of the family as an institution established by God,” Pastor Claudia de Castellanos said to those present. Pastor Castellanos is presently serving as a Senator of the country.
Pastor Roosevelt Muriel, the President of CEDECOL, said that it is “necessary that the Christians of Colombia declare and proclaim respect for the family as a fundamental basis of society,” while at the same time he emphasized in prayer that “Christian unity be consolidated as it has been accomplished so far.”
Pastors Eduardo Cañas of the Spring of Eternal Life Church, Ricardo Rodríguez of the Revival For The Nations Church, Héctor Pardo of the Tabernacle of Faith Church, Oswaldo Pinzón, President of ADME, among many others, coincided in that “the Church cannot remain indifferent to social reality, above all when there is an attempt to approve a law against the family.”
"This is an excellent opportunity that God has given us, for the Christian Church united together, to proclaim and make manifest that we are in disagreement with Bogotá being declared the gay capital city of Latin America,” stated Roosevelt Muriel, CEDECOL’s President.
