Rule for marriage

A young woman from a Church, much loved by the congregation travels Taxi Heathrow Airport to a new city for health reasons. The congregation then receives news of her marriage. So, the Church’s board of directors meets to send her a gift.

Given that they had limited cash they decided to send a very short telegram with a Biblical text that only said 1. John 4-18 which says “There is not fear in love, but perfect love drives out fear because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.”

However, due to a problem with the telegram, that often contain typing errors,  the telegram stated John 4-18, leaving out the I which says: “The fact is that you had five husbands and the man you have now is not your husband. What you have said is quite true.”

“The prophets”

A pastor was preaching about the minor prophets – the 12 – in a sermon. After two hours he was only half way through his message. All of the faithful were tired and their attention had drifted.

After four hours, to everyone’s relief he said “Finally….” And when everyone though the sermon was over, to the horror of the congregation, the preacher said “Oh, I forgot Miqueas. What can we say about Miqueas?

An elderly woman sitting in front of him couldn’t take any more. She stood up and said “Hey preacher, Miqueas can sit in my place, because I am going home!”
